Handmade ceramic, fine art & gifts by Dana Simson

Dana Simson’s colorful uplifting ceramic designs are individually handcrafted by her to spread good cheer. Her original paintings and designs are available as prints or as handmade clocks, ornaments, note cards or jewelry. Dana is an illustrator author and her children’s picture books can be found on this site. She happy to personalize her books. In fact because every thing is handmade here in our Salisbury, Maryland studio we often do custom work and commissions. One of Dana’s most treasured creations are her hand painted wedding bowls and platters with the bride and grooms names and wedding date on the bottom. These are also wonderful for anniversaries, retirement, new homes or any occasion where your gift will be extra appreciated.

Feel free to give us a call at 410.603.0531  and we will be glad to help you.

Inspiration to live by

A note from Dana: My artwork is inspired by the deep joy I find in nature, especially at our home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. We tangle with the hardwork of restoring a century old farmhouse, living organically and ocasionally driving home through the high tides that periodically reclaim what passes for our road. We named our home Secrethouse, because when we discovered it no one had lived here since 1950 except foxes and black snakes. (Both still visit) I hope to share the stories and inspiration of the Secrethouse property with you through my paintings and my blog.
